Indiana Jones successfully retrieves the Ark of the Covenant from the Nazis in a thrilling chase through Egypt. However, he is betrayed by his rival, Belloq, who takes the Ark and plans to open it. The Nazis, Belloq, and their soldiers gather to witness the Ark's power, but upon opening it, a supernatural force is unleashed, killing them all. Jones manages to close the Ark in time to save himself and his love interest, Marion. The government then hide the Ark away in a warehouse, ensuring its power remains hidden.
